A ministry of availability

Men and women typically face multiple challenges when they come to Jobs Partnership in search of a better job and a better life. We help LifeWorks participants address needs ranging from food to healthcare to finances by connecting them with private and public partners at our Community Resource Fair. We connect them with spiritual resources as well, including the chaplaincy services of Corporate Care Partners (CCP).

CCP founder David Outing says, “We provide a ‘ministry of availability’ for the participants. We are here to help you get through what you’re going through.”

Participants learn right away that they can reach out to Pastor Outing and his wife April Outing, and CCP contact information is printed in their participant guide. Pastor Outing visits every training site each semester, whether in his role as a LifeWorks volunteer instructor or by stopping in, so participants can connect his face with the name in their guides. “Any time I’m on-site, I let everyone know about us,” he says. Participants contact the Outings by text, phone or email, and receive prayer, pastoral counseling, encouragement and advice according to their needs. CCP services are available to JP volunteers and staff members as well.

The Outings founded CCP in 2014 to provide spiritual care for businesses through corporate chaplaincy. The CCP team serves more than 15 organizations. The Outings also serve at The Kingdom Church, where Pastor Outing is associate pastor and April is an elder.

Pastor Outing has been part of JP since its founding, serving over the years as a board member, staff member and volunteer. JP president Marc Stanakis says, “David is a trusted adviser and champion for the cause. In his current role as chaplain, he brings care, compassion and spiritual encouragement for our team and everyone he serves.

“He bleeds JP blue and orange!”
